Step 1: Stand approximately 6 feet (1.8 meters) away from your computer screen.
 
Step 2: Covering one eye, note the lowest row that appears clear. If you cannot clearly see the “20/20" row, you should visit an eye care professional as your prescription may need to be updated. If you cannot clearly see the “20/30” or "20/40" rows, you may not be able to pass the DMV eye test in your state.

Step 3: Repeat steps 1 through 2 while switching eyes.
